FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How is handmade soap different from store-bought soap?
Store-bought soaps often rely on synthetic detergents, foaming agents, and fillers. Handmade soap is made with carefully selected oils and butters and keeps the naturally occurring glycerin created during the soapmaking process.

Why does each bar look slightly different?
Because every soap is made in very small batches and cut by hand, no two bars look exactly alike. Swirls shift, colors vary, and designs do their own thing. That variation is part of the charm and does not affect the soap itself.

How should I store and care for my soap?
Soap likes a break between uses. Keep it in a dry place and use a dish that lets water drain and air circulate. Your soap will thank you by sticking around longer.

How long will my soap last?
That depends on how often it’s used and how well it’s stored. With daily use and proper drying between washes, many handmade bars last a month or more.

How do I get the best lather from my soap?
Handmade soap lathers best when applied with a loofah or soap saver. If using on wet skin or a washcloth, add a bit of extra water and work the bar between your hands.

Does your soap contain lye?
Our soaps are formulated using lye, but the finished bars contain no active lye. The lye fully reacts with the oils during saponification to create real soap.

Can I customize a soap design or scent?
Sometimes, yes. If you have an idea in mind, reach out and tell me about it. If it sounds fun and challenging, I am probably already interested.

Are your soaps just for showers and baths?
Nope. My soaps love views from all the sinks too! Anywhere you need to wash and clean, is a great place.

Do you ship internationally?
At this time, we ship within the contiguous 48 United States only.
